Server FAQs

ipsCA is a subsidiary of IPS, whose root certificate (IPS SERVIDORES) is present in Microsoft products since 1999, Apple and internet products from other vendors. Our root certificate was incorporated in Internet Explorer 5.01. Microsoft bundles our root in IE, W2000,XP,WME AND NT4 SP6.0.

ipsCA signing Certificate is signed by IPS SERVIDORES and that makes our server certificates recognized by more than 90 % of today desktops.

For older browsers our certificates are supported but not embedded the same happens for any version of Netscape Browsers.

Any way, given the last statistics on browsers use, the amount of users with netscape browsers is near the 4% and sadly going down every month.

Why free certs

By providing free SSL certificates, ipsCA lowers the barrier of entry for many companies doing business online. Most SSL certificates cost $350 or more. With these certificates, businesses can assure their customers that transactions and information are secure on the Internet without having to pay an unreasonable price.

Our Validation process IT IS A MATTER OF MINUTES !

1) The first step in the enrollment process will be to generate a CSR (Certificate Signing Request) file. This task must be performed by the administrator of the server, it could be you or the ISP where your server is located.

2) Fill the form with your information, the technical contact information and the Certificate options.

3) An email message will be sent to you to confirm your request, your request could be delayed in case it is a renewal from another CA (we have to manually check your old certificate) or because we cannot obtain the NIC information related to your certificate. This delay can be at the most of some hours.

4) Upon your email confirmation, an email message will be sent to the Administrative Contact, Technical Contact, Billing Contact for the domain you are requesting the certificate for.

5) One of the Contacts of the domain must reply to the email message to authorize the request

6) After we receive the authorization email, a new message will be sent to you with the contact confirmation and Payment information must be introduced at this stage.

7) When payment, if necessary, is checked you will receive the signed certificate.
